17 June 2006 Workers too busy for holidays
Certain employees will not need to take out annual travel insurance since they rarely take the time off they are entitled to, according to new research today.
A new study from the Chartered Management Institute suggests that while seven out of ten middle managers believe holidays are necessary, nearly ninety per cent do not take them.
A range of excuses were given for people not taking time off including heavy workloads, enjoying work and simply "poor personal planning".
Jo Causon, director of marketing and corporate affairs at CMI, said: "Individuals clearly see the benefits of a break from work, but still appear unwilling to have a proper rest.
"In the short-term this may seem like a good idea, but the idea of 'all work and no play' is not a recipe for long-term success."
Those that do make use of their holiday entitlements may wish to take out multi-trip travel insurance, which can offer consumers potential money savings.
Such policies, such as annual travel insurance premiums, can work out much cheaper than the total taking out single, individual premiums.
