04 January 2007 Travel insurance a 'necessary' travel expense
Single or multi-trip travel insurance has been described as a necessary expense for holidaymakers planning trips abroad in 2007.
Tesco Instant Travel Insurance has urged travellers to ensure they are covered by a policy when they go overseas this year, while launching its own sale on travel protection until the end of the month.
The company notes that single trip policies can be bought well in advance of travel while annual multi-trip travel insurance will cover holidaymakers for all trips throughout the year.
Allan Burns, head of Tesco Travel Insurance, said: "Whether we are planning to take to slopes on a winter sports holiday or head to sunnier climes and relax by a swimming pool, we all view travel insurance as the necessary and frequently expensive aspect of holidays."
Price comparison company moneysupermarket.com recently advised consumers to purchase travel money online in advance of travel to get a cheaper deal on currency.
