13 January 2006 Top ten travel destinations of 2005 named Travel company iExplore has announced its top ten world travel destinations for 2005.
Based on its adventure and experiential travellers, the list provides varied destinations for those keen to take advantage of their annual travel insurance to visit numerous countries.
Egypt moved from its second place position in 2004 to take the number one spot, while Peru and the Galapagos Islands came second and third respectively.
A number of destinations held fast to their places in the top ten, including China, India, Italy and France.
"There was no material shift in our best selling destinations in 2005, with our top five destinations largely unchanged," iExplore founder and chief executive officer George Deeb commented.
"That said, both South Africa and New Zealand saw strong growth to move into our annual top ten list for the first time ever."
Although not reaching the top ten, Morocco, Argentina and Jordan all experienced strong growth throughout the past year.
