Multi-trip travel insurance is the way to go for modern travellers as new research has revealed that holidaymakers are taking increasing numbers of short-breaks throughout the year.
Churchill Travel Insurance uncovered findings showing that nearly a third of the population took short-breaks in 2005, up from just 26 per cent in 2003 and the number of mini-breaks is now double the number of long holidays taken.
Head of Churchill Travel Insurance, Mike Ketteringham, said: "Holidaymakers should check they are only buying travel insurance cover for the number of days they need and they aren't buying a 'block' policy without realising. As our research shows most travel agents' insurance policies are best suited to those embarking on a week-long holiday rather than those going away for just a couple of days."
An annual travel insurance policy may be another way for holidaymakers to ensure they aren't paying out more than they need to each time they take a trip.
