13 April 2007 Rock 'n' Roll holiday 'for all the family'
Travellers looking to rock around the clock on their holidays may be interested in the launch next year of the first Hard Rock Park - a rock music-themed amusement park.
Opening in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in spring 2008, the 140-acre park will include attractions for people of all ages, including roller coasters, restaurants, children's play areas and, of course, live music.
The park will be made up of six separate areas, dubbed the All-Access Entry Plaza, Rock 'n' Roll Heaven, Lost in the 70s, Born in the USA, Cool Country and, for those wanting a taste of home, the British Invasion.
Steven Goodwin, chief executive officer of the park, said: "We've been dreaming up Hard Rock Park for the last few years and we can't wait to start showing people what they can expect to experience."
He added that the mixture of modern technology for the rides and historical memorabilia will appeal to rock fans of all ages.
USA Today reports that one of the attractions at the park will be a Led Zeppelin-themed rollercoaster.
Last year, annual travel insurance provider Halifax reported that 21 per cent of men and 22 per cent of women would include a trip to a theme park in their dream holiday.
