Britons can play on one of the hundreds of golf courses open to the general public, or if more of a spectator, head to the Oakmont Country Club from June 11th-17th for the US Open Golf Championship, being held at the course for a record eighth time.
"Pennsylvania has more golf courses per capita than any other US state with over 700, of which 500 are open to the public and many of which are award-winning courses and have hosted PGA Tours," reports Pennsylvania Tourism.
The tourist office adds that the first golf brochure for the state has now been launched, featuring courses near famous landmarks together with listings of UK golf operators, tour operators and airlines offering flights to Pennsylvania.
In the past, annual travel insurance provider Halifax has advised those looking to play golf abroad to ensure their clubs are adequately protected when overseas, in addition to suggesting safe packing of golfing equipment.
