29 January 2007 New trend for 'comfortable and affordable travel'
Holidaymakers, such as those with multi-trip insurance, travelling on airlines including the recently launched business-class only airline Silverjet, are part of a continuing trend for affordable and comfortable long-haul flights.
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) reports that other airlines launching premium-class only long-haul routes in recent years, including Maxjet and Eos also support this change.
It noted that all these airlines fly these routes from second tier airports in London, such as Stansted and Luton.
"Travellers will have more space in their private lounges and terminals, face less delays, queue less and can check in later," the association reports.
ABTA adds that other airlines have also increased legroom and improved services on trips to destinations including Egypt, Thailand and the Caribbean.
Last spring, annual travel insurance provider More Than reported an increase in the number of Britons taking luxury trips abroad.
