16 April 2007 New travel tool launched for small businesses
Small-business employees who go abroad often, including those with annual travel insurance, may be interested in the launch of a free organisational tool that could assist in the management of business management plans.
Travel technology firm Portaga has unveiled the TripSync online tool to enable users of Microsoft Outlook to simplify, organise and synchronise their travel plans.
Robert Kost, chief executive officer and founder of the company, said: "While most online travel tools today are either geared for leisure or corporate travellers, TripSync is the first tool designed with the small-business traveller in mind."
He added that many business people had experienced difficulties altering their travel arrangements following changes to their business plans.
Features of the programme include the synchronisation of live data itineraries into Microsoft Outlook to facilitate simple changes to flight, car hire and other reservations, while travellers can notify others of these changes by using the system to alter their online calendar.
Portaga was founded in 2005 and also offers the Book Avis client application to integrate car hire services with Microsoft Outlook.
