02 April 2007 New Bali flights 'for European passengers' European travellers are set to benefit from the first connections operated by a Middle Eastern airline to the Indonesian island of Bali.
The announcement by Qatar Airlines that it is to expand its network in the Far East has been welcomed by the region's tourism industry, while the new flights are also expected to benefit international business.
In addition to Bali, the carrier has also recently added Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to its list of Asian services, which now includes flights to 14 destinations across the east of Asia.
Commenting on the new connection to Bali, Akbar Al Baker, chief executive officer of Qatar Airlines, said: "We look forward to bringing passengers to this tropical paradise from throughout our international network, especially from Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
"Likewise, we anticipate many business travellers will be looking to take advantage of the new Doha to Bali connection."
Long a popular destination for international party-seekers due to its vibrant nightlife and relatively low prices, Bali is also famous for its ancient temples and the natural beauty of its mountains and Indian Ocean beaches.
