For those looking to make the most of their annual travel insurance hitting the ski slopes before the end of the season could be a cool option.
And where better than the world class Canadian resort of Whistler, which will be playing host to the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival from April 14th – 23rd.
The Whistler Blackcomb resort offers a range of ski and snowboard packages amongst the beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, as well as a range of other activities for those wanting to get off the piste, including 50 live concerts, an art exhibition and a fashion show during the 10 day TELUS event.
As well as giving people the chance to enjoy the slopes, the festival, which is the largest snowsport event in North America, will feature the world's best snowboarders competing for prize money of C$50,000 and some of the most talented free skiers taking part in daredevil down-hill feats.
In January this year Whistler was awarded the title of Best Overall resort 2006 by Transworld Snowboarding magazine and in 2005 the Whistler resort, endorsed by the United Nation's environmental programme, received the Livable Communities Award for their moves towards sustainability.
