22 June 2007 France and Austria 'more popular as ski destinations'
More people are opting for skiing holidays in France and Austria, according to a spokesperson from First Choice.
However, he also said that this increased popularity was small as the rise was between one and three per cent.
Skiers may also be advised to take out annual travel insurance, as the spokesperson said that travellers are visiting the slopes at numerous times of the year.
He mentioned that there is "great demand over the half term weeks " and as Easter falls earlier on in March, it is "a very popular time to travel".
"Christmas and New Year are maybe not the peaks that they once were - this is mainly driven by the New Year's week not fully falling into the school holidays," the spokesperson said.
Commenting on specific destinations, the First Choice representative stated that Austria has "great skiing" and offers "a truly all-round holiday experience".
