14 October 2005 Fewer sailors taking to the Devon seas The number of yachts visiting one of Devon's busiest resorts, Salcombe, has been falling.
The number of yachts berthing in sailing centre of the famous tourist town has fallen by 12 per cent since last year, reports the BBC.
Those holidaying in the UK are reminded to take out adequate travel insurance, especially if planning to undertake and physical activities.
The decline amounts to 1,500 fewer visitor nights being spent in the area.
Harbour master Stephen Took told the BBC that the decline is due to the "lack of facilities ashore that now includes the purchasing of general provisions."
