03 April 2007 Annual insurance 'is best for Brits' annual travel insurance offers better value to British holidaymakers who take an average of two holidays each year, according to new advice.
Halifax Travel Insurance has claimed that an annual travel insurance policy can work out cheaper than multiple single policies.
The advice follows research from the insurance provider revealing that as well as taking one annual holiday, Britons now take at least one other short break to Europe a year.
Cheap flights and the popularity of mini-breaks in different cities across Europe were cited as reasons for the growth in multiple trips abroad by the insurer.
"More and more of us are taking short breaks to destinations in the UK, Europe and further a field, making annual travel insurance a more attractive proposition," explained Halifax Travel Insurance's underwriting manager, Paul Birkhead.
"With little difference in price and in some cases actually cheaper, it makes sense to avoid falling into the insurance trap by taking annual cover."
Meanwhile, a survey from Travelcare recently revealed that Prague is the cheapest European city to take a short break in.
